William Joseph Trice, Jr, age 55 of Sioux City passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday November 17, 2012 at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff with Rev. Roger Madden of First United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. William was born in Sioux City on April 2, 1957, the son of William J and Louise F (Norton) Trice. He attended Sioux City Public Schools. He was united in marriage with Denise Piper in 1977 and the couple later divorced, he then married Debra Updike in 1998 and they later divorced.
William worked in construction for a few years, as well as driving a truck for a period of time. He then became a technician for Farrell Heating and Air Conditioning for ten years until his health forced his early retirement three years ago.
He was a huge fan of NASCAR racing and enjoyed working with his friend Tom on race cars.
He is survived by his mother Louise of Sioux City, daughter Jenny Anderson and her husband Joe of Mapleton, IA., and son Talon of Sioux City, Step-mother Martha Trice of Tennessee. He is also survived by half-brothers Bill Trice and wife Claire and their children of Tennessee, and Kelly Trice and his children of Tennessee Sister Sue Thill and her husband Pete of Sioux City half-sisters: Kim Burt and her husband James of Tennessee and their children. He is also survived by a nephew Chris, along with his four grandchildren: Jayce, Drew, Hailey, and David.
He was preceded in death by his father and half-sister Wendy Trice.
