William F. "Bill" Shultz, 69 of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at a local hospital.
A Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa. A Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.
Bill was born November 7, 1941 to Carl and Lillian (Mardeson) Shultz in Anita, Iowa. He graduated from Anita High School in 1960, and moved to Sergeant Bluff following graduation.
Bill married Donna Peterson on June 24, 1962. He later married Darlene Lilly on April 10, 1982 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Bill was employed at C.W. Suter for over 20 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, and he was also a member of the Carpenters Union for many years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to hunt, fish, golf, and garden, he also loved sports and to play cards.
Bill leaves behind his children; Robert Shultz and his wife Deb of Sergeant Bluff, and Tracy Knapp of Sergeant Bluff, step-children; Tom Lilly and his wife Carrie of Seattle, Sarah Walters and her husband Karel of Sioux City, Caroline Tompkins and her husband Bill of Sergeant Bluff, Grandchildren; Jamie, Jacob, and Zachary Shultz, Jason and Jesse Knapp, Emmelena and Alana Walters, Korie, Kylie, and Brennen Tompkins, and Sophia and Genevieve Lilly.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene, and a son-in-law Michael Knapp.
