William "Bill" Lee Davis, 88 of Lawton, Iowa passed away June 7, 2025, at a local hospital. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m., at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery.
Bill was born April 6, 1937, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Arthur and Florence (Delaney) Davis. He grew up in Sioux City graduating from East High School. Bill continued his education at Morningside College, receiving his BS degree in business, with a minor in history. He married Marjorie McManamy on June 6, 1959. Together they made their home in Sioux City.
Over the years, Bill worked as a banker for Morningside Bank, ran Kwik Shop on 14th and Court St., and as an independent truck driver. He played high school football and continued to play while at Morningside College. He was a history buff, often watching old war movies. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters: Becky Davis of Sioux City and Sam (Mark) Rickertsen of Hutchinson, MN; 4 grandchildren: Brett, Dani, Jay and Adam Rickertsen all of Hutchinson, MN; sister, Pat (Ken) Carlson; a brother-in-law, Ronald ‘Skip’ (Dodie) McManamy; cousin, Sally Torgerson; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda; wife, Marjorie; and brothers, Dick and Jim.
