Wesley Howard Lauer, 67, of South Sioux City, Nebraska died Monday, February 1, 2021 at his home in South Sioux City. Memorial Services will be 1:00 Friday, February 5, 2021 at Waterbury Funeral Services of Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home.

Wesley was born September 19, 1953 in Cheyenne, Wyoming the son of Wesley and Shirley (Stevenson) Lauer. As a child, he and his family moved around the country. He graduated from South Sioux City High School. Wes married Toni Flanders December 20, 1975 in Sioux City. Together they made their home in Northern Idaho before returning to South Sioux City in the early 1980’s. Wes worked for Mid Step Services for over 30 years, caring for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Wes loved riding his Harley and working out in the garden. His specialty was tomatoes and peppers. He also trained and taught Karate in his youth.

Survivors include his wife, Toni Lauer of South Sioux City; 4 children, Candice (Frank) Jackson of St. Louis, David (Tiffany) Lauer of Des Moines, Daniel Lauer and Libby of Sioux City and Jennifer (Richard) Lieber of South Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; mother, Shirley Michelle Windedahl of South Sioux City; 3 sisters, Julie, Trina and Michelle and a brother, Rocky.

He is preceded in death by his father; and brother, James.
