Wendy Marie Hinrickson-Jeffords, 67, of Sioux City, IA, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Sioux Falls, SD on August 8, 2025.  A celebration of her life will be held Friday, August 15 at 4:30 p.m., with a visitation with the family from 3:30-4:30 at Good News Baptist Church 3200  W. 19th St. Sioux City, IA.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Wendy was born on June 15, 1958 in Sioux City, IA and grew up in Sergeant Bluff, IA with her siblings and mom, Marion.  She always had homemade clothes and a garden to run through and eat from.  She learned how to be a wonderful homemaker from her mom.  She was a stay at home mom most of her children's young lives.  She had 5 children: Damion, Angela, Cassandra, Krystal, and Robert.  She also took care of nieces and nephews all the time, taking them in if they needed a place.  Wendy had a lot of bonus kids she considered hers as well.  She always stood strong and taught her children how to get through tough days.  She never really let on if she was having a bad day. Wendy was a great caregiver and took care of her mother and husband on hospice until they passed away.  She also worked for Visiting Angels, taking care of other people.  She was very proud of her job.

She was very crafty and crocheted blankets for all her children and grandchildren.  She made beautiful towels for family and friends.  Wendy had a passion for doing puzzles every day and reading books.  She always had music playing and listened to everything.  She loved her Scooters coffee and admitted she was addicted.  Wendy was always a beautiful spark of light, smiling, happy, laughing, full of humorous funny jokes, always ready to go along for a ride, to have the next adventure. She was down for it all.

Those left to honor her memory include her children; brother, Randy; three sisters: Margaret, Sandra, and Laurie; 10 grandchildren and 9 great granddaughters .

She is preceded in death by her mom, Marion and several aunts.
