Wendy K. Certain, 49 of Sioux City, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 in Sioux City.

Services 1 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Central Baptist Church. Visitation one hour prior to time of service. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Wendy was born on December 10, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Sandra (Woods) Stapella. She graduated from high school in Waterloo, and then attended Killian Community College in Sioux Falls. She later continued her education and obtained her Accounting Degree Masters in 1996. She worked at the Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls from 2001 to 2009.

On January 27, 2010 Wendy was united in marriage to Stanley Certain. Wendy enjoyed the outdoors and fishing with her husband. She was an avid reader, loved country music, and shopping for shoes.

Wendy was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

Wendy is survived by her husband Stanley, her sons, Matt Hall and Nick Ellsworth; her stepchildren, Jonathan Certain, Stefan Certain, Jasper Certain, Steven Certain and Tisha Certain; 2 grandchildren and 9 step-grandchildren; her parents, Robert Stapella and Sandra Woods; her brothers, Eugene Stapella, Michael Tuman, Ben Stapella and Byron Stapella; her sister, Lynn Middlen; and her maternal grandmother,
