Obituary

Wayne Stanley "Stan" Shook, 72 of Sioux City, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at a local care facility.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 7 pm Tuesday, February 13 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City with visitation 6-7 pm. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Stan was born on March 28, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of Wayne and Joyce (Tasker) Shook. Stan graduated in 1969 from Central High School. In December Stan enlisted in the Navy. During his enlistment he served aboard the USS Constellation, CVA-64.

When Stan returned to Sioux City, he worked for a local Ford dealer, then Mid-West Cycle for a while before owning and operating "Tooey's Bar". After selling the bar, Stan worked for Lindblom Services and lastly with Udell Trucking, retiring in 2021.

Stan is survived by his brother, Kevin Shook, Cindy Hansen and a sister Andrea Cross.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece Mamie Faye Combs and a nephew, John Walz.
