Wayne E. Johnson, 84 of Sergeant Bluff, died Sunday, November 27, 2016 at local hospital.

Funeral service will be held 10:30am Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be at St. Clair Township Cemetery in Ute, Iowa, with Military Honors by the United States Army. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the funeral home, in Sioux City.

Wayne was born September 13, 1932 in Moorhead, Iowa the son of John and Edith (Buckland) Johnson.

He grew up in Moorhead, Iowa and helped on the family farm, until he joined the Army in 1952. After returning from the service he met and married Dorothy Shultz, and to this union four children were born.

Wayne is survived by his two daughters; Jan Clarey (Rey) Salinas of Charles City, Kathy (Mike) Waderich of Hornick, IA., two stepchildren; Verla Haislet of Cherokee, IA, Wayne Glieck of Davis City, IA., four grandchildren; Jonathan, Shannon, Wendy, Aaron, and three great grandchildren; Aedan, Quentin, Keneleigh.

He proceeded in death by his parents, two sons; Robert, Terry, two brothers; Donald, Leonard, three step siblings; Jean, Elvin, Leona Johnson, and a special friend Alice Wynn.
