Born again, W.W. II vet., Wayland (Dub) Clifford Baird 85; Went home to be with his
Lord and Savior on March 14, 2011 from St. Luke’s with his family surrounding him.

Funeral Services will be held at Central Assembly of God, 2300 W. 19th Street by Rev. Randy
Nelson from K.C., Mo on Thursday March 17th at 11:00, followed by a luncheon at the church.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 the same day. Interment will follow the luncheon at Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites offered by the United States Navy.

Dub was born Oct. 20, 1925 to Karl F & Mildred (Ficken) Baird in Moville, Ia.
He is the 3rd of 4 children.

Dub entered the Navy in Oct. of 1943. He served in the Pacific onboard the
U.S.S. Hart (DD 594) as Fire Control Mate 1st class (5” Gun) until his discharge in April 1946.
He returned to Sioux City where he met and married Donna Faye Kinnaman April 7, 1954.
Dub worked at many vocations in the Sioux City area; Armour’s, Wilson Trailer, Pizza Papa,
Co-Op (MidAm) to name a few, before retiring in 1987. Dub also worked at the Marina Inn
part-time after retirement.

Dub is survived by his wife Donna Faye (Sgt. Bluff), daughter Roxanne & husband Randy
Pojar (S.C.) their 2 daughters Heather and Aubrie (S.C.); son Timothy & wife Darla (Anthon)
their 2 children Joshua (Hampton) & Sarah (Anthon); daughter Kathy & husband Rodney
Sitzmann (S.C.) their 3 sons Aaron (Council Bluffs), Chad and Justin (Lawton); daughter Lisa &
husband Risty Stamoulis (Sgt Bluff) their 3 children Arielle (Sgt Bluff), Stephanie (St. Louis, Mo)
& Anthony (U.S. Air Force); and daughter Karen Wilson, her 4 children Derek, Alysha, David and
Andrew of Sgt Bluff. 19 Great Grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and a sister, Vera
Crow of Little Rock, AR.

Preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Theodore (Lawton) and sister Verla
Scheibe of Milbrae, Ca.
