Warren W. Derochie, 96 of Sioux City, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 10 am Saturday, June 17th at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 11 to 3 pm, with the family present from 1-3 pm.


Warren Wayne Derochie was born on December 30, 1920 near Jefferson, South Dakota, the son of Lawrence and Valentine (Beavers) Derochie. Warren was united in marriage to Leitha Shook on October 5, 1940 in Dakota City. Warren worked during the 1940's for the government welding on tanks and barges. He retired in 1982 from Fruehauf Tractor-Trailer after working there for 35 years.


Warren enjoyed time with his family, and being outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening.


Warren is survived by his sons Richard Derochie and Charles Derochie, his daughter Lisa and her husband Larry Christiansen, all of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 30 plus great great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leitha in 1985, brothers Clifford and Lloyd, one son Robert and a grandson, Jeremy.
