Wanda Arlene Tompkins, 92, of Sioux City, IA, passed away October 12, 2024, at a local care center.  A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Wanda was born on June 20, 1932, in Walthill, NE. to Walter and Maggie (Forrester) Moore.  She graduated from Walthill High School and was united in marriage to Robert Tompkins on February 20, 1953, in Sioux City. They lived in Walthill before moving to Sioux City in 1958.  Wanda worked as a colorist for photography studios, including: Genelli Studio and Bobier Portrait Studio.  She also worked in the office at Morningside College and as a sales associate for Sears.  Wanda enjoyed traveling with family, took numerous motorcycle trips with church friends, and lived in Arizona for several years after retiring; eventually moving back to Sioux City to be near family.  She had a zest for life and a spicy attitude until the end.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters: Jean (Ed) Engels and Sandy Tompkins; and two grandchildren, Lisa and Brynnly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Rita Faye Tompkins; husband Robert; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
