Vince was born on December 13, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa to Vincent and Maxine (McMahon) McMahon. He was united in marriage to Karen Colt on March 4, 1967. Together they raised their three girls spending a lot of time at ballgames or school and church activities at Sacred Heart and later Heelan.
Vince was 100% Irish and took great pride in that fact. Notre Dame, “The Fighting Irish”, was his favorite team. He was a great, competitive athlete and had a natural ability to do well in every sport he tried. He passed his love of athletics on to his children and coached all of them in softball, basketball, and track. Neighborhood children would often come to the door to see if he could come out to play. Vince was a great encourager and motivator and people loved his fun personality. He talked to everyone he met, and it seemed like he knew everyone. His family and friends loved to talk about his tricks, impressions, or the funny things he did or said. Vince worked many extra hours at Terra Chemical for 47 years to provide nice things for his family. He was very generous and kind and will be greatly missed.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters: Christine (Frank) Riley and Nancy McMahon; grandchildren: Makayla Derochie, Shayler (Kelley) Levine, K.C.-Karen Catherine Riley-Schweer (Tanner) Schweer, Sheehan (Hannah) Levine, Vince (fiancé, Maggie Steinkamp) Riley, Cam (Janela De Arcos) Levine; great grandchildren: Makiye Davis, JaKobe and JaKari Jones, Declan Schweer, Ariel, Henrick, Torin, and Mila Levine; siblings: Raymond (Patty) McMahon and Mary Helen (Ron) Beauchene; brother and sister in laws: Dale Hein, Sally McMahon, Wendy Nason, Terry (Marlene) Colt, Kathy (Bill) Poshard, Ernie (Terri) Colt, Norma Colt, Milt Bristol, and Jerry Mount; and many nieces and nephews.
