Vicki J. Kruse age 45, of Sioux City passed away on October 19, 2013 at a local hospital following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday October 23, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Sioux City with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Interment will follow in the Banner Township Cemetery at Lawton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 pm with the family present 6-8 pm at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Vicki was born on March 4, 1968 on Carpentersville, Illinois, the daughter of Patrick and Joyce (Burwell) Mathis. She spent her early years in the states of Illinois, Arizona, and Alabama. She was united in marriage with Dean Kruse on June 5, 1993 in Sioux City and had made Sioux City her home since that time.

Vicki had many interests in addition to being the go to person with her family at Kruse Refrigeration. She had collected Precious Moments figurines and antiques for many years, she loved to sell her antiques, was an active seller at Flea Markets, Booth # 500, loved camping and amusement parks, but her family was number one of her interests and loves. She enjoyed holidays, but was especially fond of Christmas. She was a very giving person who always put others in need ahead of herself. She also loved all of her pets.

Vicki’s memories will be cherished by her family which includes her husband Dean of Sioux City, her mother Joyce Zawacki of Sioux City, her sons Devin and Dean Jr. and her daughters Nichole, Candas Kruse, Amanda Kruse, her step- son Jeremy and her step-daughter Stacy Kruse. She is also survived by a brother Samuel Mathis, and three half-sisters: Lynn Blaker, Kathryn White, and Jessica Zawacki.

She was preceded in death by her father, and a son Bryce.
