Valerie Lee Thornton, 51, passed away Tuesday May 18, 2021 at a local hospital following complication due to esophageal cancer. Per her families wishes, no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Valerie Lee Thornton was born Wednesday, June 25, 1969 to Loren Quinn and Lila Menard. She grew up in Sioux City with her sisters. Val was a very positive person who loved going to garage sales and shopping and her cat, Leah.

Val is survived by her son Colby; her mother Lila; and her sisters Monica Burkhart and Shelley Gillis.

Val is preceded in death by her loving husband Lonnie Thornton; her father, Loren; and her sister Rhonda Knapp.
