Twyla Mae Parsley, 88, of Sloan, IA, passed away February 8, 2025, at a local care center. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
Twyla was born on August 2, 1936 in Sac City, IA. She graduated from Sac City High School and was united in marriage to James Parsley in 1966. Together they made there home on a farm in Sloan, IA. Twyla graduated from Stewarts Beauty School and worked as a hairdresser for many years. Twyla and James then opened their own antique store, Country Cottage Collectibles. They traveled the United States collecting antiques at various flea markets. Twyla always kept busy, from running a gardening center to birthing lambs on the farm.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Ronelle (Harold) Marnell; step-son, Michael Parsley; grandchildren: Robert, Samantha, Frank, Eric, and Kara; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and step-son, Patrick Parsley.
