Troy James Gilmore, 71, of Jackson, NE, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer, NE, following services.  A visitation will be held from 4-8pm with family present from 6-8pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Troy was born on March 5, 1947 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to James and Velma (Clark) Gilmore. While working at Zenith in Sioux City, Troy met the love of his life, Diane S. Fredricksen, and they were married on June 2, 1968 in South Sioux City.

Troy was a truck driver for IBP for twenty plus years, and later drove truck for various other companies in the Siouxland area, one of them being Gill Hauling, only retiring recently due to illness. He enjoyed going fishing, and was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt, SR. He also enjoyed dirt track car races, and was even known to build some track cars.

Survivors include his children, David (Carrie) Gilmore and Holly Chase both of Sioux City; sisters, Ruby Most of Sioux City and Rachel (Kenneth) Barns of Amory, MS; grandchildren, Travis Chase, Isaiah Gilmore, Dakota Chase, Tyler Chase, and Ethan Gilmore; and his special dog companion, Oscar.

Troy was preceded in death to this parents; wife, Diane; daughters, Lisa and Lori; and brother, Charles.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Gill family, especially Bernie, Lindy, and Leonard.
