Timothy E. Girard, 64, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at a local hospital. A celebration to remember and honor Tim will take place on Saturday, July 16 at Country Celebrations Event Center, 5606 Hamilton Blvd. Sioux City, IA. The gathering will beginning at 5:00 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., and a time to remember and honor Tim will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Tim was born on October 1, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of Virgil Paul Girard and Delores Jean (Girard) Johnson. He graduated from Leeds High School in 1970. Tim married Cheri Cook in 1970 in Sioux City.
Tim worked at Mid-American Energy as an Instrument and Control Technician for 35 years, retiring in April of 2015. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, hunting, traveling and most of all, spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, the love of his life, Cheri of Sioux City; son, Timothy Virgil Paul Girard of Sioux City; mother, Delores McDougall and her husband Bill of Le Mars, IA; step father, Richard Burnight of Sioux City; siblings, Robyn Jones and her husband Dennis of Alcester, SD, Rich Burnight of Sioux City, and Ron Burnight of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Abigail and Anna Girard; and many other beloved friends and family members.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Girard.
