Thomas L. Stevens, Jr. 68, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, March 13, 2016 at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Per his wishes, Thomas will be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Tommy was born on August 25, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Thomas L. Stevens Sr. and Marion Lorditch. He attended Riverside High School in Sioux City and joined the Navy. Following the Navy, Tommy attended Berkeley and Sonoma College, receiving degrees in Anthropology and Archeology. He later taught Archeology at Sonoma College. Tommy spent most of his life in academia, he loved learning. He also enjoyed gardening, and his beloved best friend, Bubba.

Survivors include his sisters: Peggy Stevens and Valerie Schultz of Sioux City, nephews and nieces: Joseph Tranmer, Cassandra Crawford, Patrick Hanson, and Tobias Hanson, great niece Alexis Hanson, and many cousins.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.
