Thomas "Tom" L. Haire, 70 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at a local hospital. Services will be held 5:00pm Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home

Tom was born Tuesday, June 10, 1952 to John and Doris (Butcher) Haire. He married Jolene on August 21, 1970.

Tom worked at Palmer Candy, Gelita USA for 43 years and every Saturday night you could find him working at Park Jefferson Racetrack. Tom loved working on cars, especially race cars. Throughout the years, Tom helped out many friends with their race cars, as well as his 2 grandsons that currently race. He enjoyed watching and supporting them and was very proud of their success. Tom was also known to be a fabulous cook and baker. Several friends would have request for his special dishes; pumpkin bars, flat tires and potato salad to name a few.

Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jolene; children, Wendy (Ed) Thompson and Shane (Vickie) Haire; 6 grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Carlee, Michael, Barri and Kirk; 1 great-grandchild, Dustyn and another on the way; sisters, Cheryl Trapp and Cindy Tolle; mother-in-law, Lila Wheelen; brothers and sisters in-laws; nieces and nephews and his best fur friend, Boomer.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sandy and Pat; father-in-law, Dick Wheelen and 2 grandchildren, Allison and Trent.
