Thomas Carol Gatch

Thomas “Tom” C. Gatch, 82, of Sioux City, IA, passed away February 3, 2026 at a local hospital. A Celebration of life is pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Tom was born on March 6, 1943 in Ames, Iowa to Wesley and Golda (Millett) Gatch. He graduated from Newton High School in Newton, IA and enlisted into the United States Navy in 1963. He served until he was honorably discharged in 1971. Tom was united in marriage to Donna Lillis on March 2, 1968 in Santa Rosa, CA. Together they lived throughout the United States while Tom served in the Navy. During his career as a mechanic, he was a very hard worker, owning and operating Toms Outboard Motor Service where he could always be found. He introduced his children to the world of dirt track racing, and was a master at bartering and trading.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Donna Gatch; children: Wendy (Kip) Iverson, Shawn (Michele) Gatch, and Kevin (Bethany) Gatch; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Vivian Gatch Zellars and Virginia Gatch- Zwicker of Arlington Tx.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
