Theresa “Terry” M. Stewart, 67, of Sioux City, IA, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025. She was at home, surrounded by her family after fighting a yearlong battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Terry was born August 15, 1957, to Wesley G. & Bertha M. (Vaul) Waddell. She graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1975. She spent most of her life in Sioux City. She married Ricky R. Stewart on February 9, 1976. Rick and Terry welcomed three children: Chad, Sara and Katie. Terry spent many years working with Pech Optical in their customer service department before retiring in 2019.

Terry is survived by husband of nearly 49 years, Rick; children: Chad (Dr. Laci Namken), Sara (Dwayne) Howard, Katie (Thomas) Dykshorn; grandchildren: Austynn, Camden, and Breckin Stewart, Tristan and Matthew Howard, and Elizabeth Beach. To these children and grandchildren, she taught many lessons. First, family is everything. Also, hands leave bruises, but words leave permanent scars. Never say things in anger that you will regret. Patience is a virtue, but she freely admitted it was never one of hers. Lastly, she tried to teach that sarcasm is the lowest form of humor and should never be used. Sadly, this can easily be called an epic failure if you’ve ever met her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Waddell; grandson Connor Howard; parents-in-law: Raymond and Barbara Stewart, Dorothy and Cyrus Roby; and many aunts and uncles.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Tristan, Matthew, Elizabeth, Austynn, Camden and Breckin.
