Theresa Marie Hill, 54, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Home of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave, with Pastor John Woodford officiating. Visitation will be held one prior to the service at the funeral home.
Theresa was born October 21, 1962 in Minneapolis, MN, to Donald and Janice Weispfening. Theresa passed away after a year-long battle with both breast and lung cancers. She fought until she couldn’t fight any more.
Known for her cookie baking skills, Theresa brought many dozens of cookies to her children’s school functions and to PTA meetings. “Mom’s Cookie Jar” also supplied Rock’N Rods with cookies for their events. She never missed her children’s games and performances.
Theresa also enjoyed bowling, quilt making, cross-stitch and sewing, especially doll clothes and shoes.
More than anything else, Theresa loved being “Nanny” to her granddaughter, Alivia.
Survivors include her mother, four children, Brady, Bryan, Kelli, Kaitlin; a granddaughter Alivia Mae, a grandson-to-be Terry Ray; two brothers Mark (Debbie) Weispfening , Eric (Paula) Weispfening; two nieces Samantha (Jeremy) Edgren, Ailie (Christian) Deloia; two nephews Michael Weispfening, Jamon VanDenHoek a great niece and nephew Carys, Samuel Deloia.
Theresa was preceded in death by her father.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are preferred.
