Theodore T. "Teddy" Hayden, Sr, 82 of Onawa, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held 10 am Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Theodore Thomas Hayden was born on August 8, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of William and Mary (Harris) Hayden. Teddy attended Central High School. On August 8, 1959, Teddy was united in marriage to Karen Bremmers in South Sioux City. Teddy worked at several area packing houses before becoming a crane operator at Big Soo. He retired after 26 years and had never missed a day of work.

During his early years, Teddy was a member of the Missouri River Boat Club and was on bowling leagues. The highlight of his bowling days was a 300 game. (The second was his 298). Teddy was known for going out with other musicians for jam sessions, usually Wednesday evenings to the Sioux City Senior Center, Thursday to Betty Strong Encounter Center at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and on Friday evenings they would be at the South Sioux City Senior Center. He also enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

Teddy is survived by his sons, Theodore "Teddy" Hayden, Jr., and Ron (Tami) Hayden, daughters Linda (Dewey) Schager and Kelli Perkins, numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren and his sisters, Dena Derby and Sherri (Terry) Simpson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary, wife, Karen Hayden, three daughters, Patricia Feekes, Ella Benson and Teri Heald, one son Harlan Derby and a great grandson, Jason Schnee, Jr.
