Terry J. Gnewuch, 74 of North Sioux City, South Dakota passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at a local hospital, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30am Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Terry was born October 2, 1948, in Worthington, Minnesota, the son of Quinten and Leona (Weinandt) Gnewuch.  As a child, he moved with his family to Sioux City. Terry graduated from Trinity Heights Catholic School. He joined the Army in the late 1960’s and served in Germany. Terry married Kathleen Kay Hofstader December 27, 1980.  When Terry married Kathy, he was an instant stepfather of 3 children.   Terry took to this role with patience, love, and grace as they grew to adulthood. Kathy, the love of his life passed away on January 19, 2015.

Terry traveled the Midwest working for IBP in construction and maintenance. He loved spending time with the grandchildren, Sunday brunches with the family, golfing, the Bears, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Twins, Celtics, cooking and cooking shows.

Survivors include his 3 children, Julie (Joe) Jordyn, Tim (Cindy) Lester and Brian (Ginger) Lester; 7 grandchildren, Zach, Kristen, Mersades, Brandon, Jordon, Avery and Whitney; 12 great grandchildren; 5 siblings, twin sister, Sherry (Jim) Neuerburg, Colleen (Francis) Dunn, Mike Gnewuch, Denny Gnewuch and Debbie Gnewuch.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Kathy; 3 siblings, Richard, Thomas and Billy.
