Terry Eugene Bergenske, 60, of Jefferson, South Dakota, passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer, on July 18, 2025.  A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Community Center in Jefferson, South Dakota.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Terry was born on July 10, 1965, in Sioux City, Iowa to Edward and Barbara (Sammons) Bergenske. He worked as a laborer at Sioux Foundry for many years before retiring. He was a huge NASCAR fan and liked the Miami Dolphins. Terry enjoyed going to the casino on Saturday afternoons with his mom and also like to go camping. He was a quiet, reserved man who loved his family. He liked to spend time with his nieces and nephews and tell them scary stories in the tent. Terry was a good son, brother, uncle and friend, and will be missed by many.

Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Edward and Barbara Bergenske; siblings: Tammy (Danny) Mann, Paula (Jody "Joe") Barnes, Eddie (Karen) Bergenske; daughter, Teri Lynn Bergenske; 5 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Phil Parmalee.

He is preceded in death by his brothers: Russell and Michael Bergenske.
