Ted Lamoureux, 90 of Sioux City died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Westwood Specialty Care.
Memorial services will be held 7 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff, 400 4th Street, with Military Rites provided by the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be held Wednesday 4-8 pm, with the family present from 6-8 pm, all at the funeral home in Sergeant Bluff. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Akron at a later date.
Leonard Theodore “Ted” Lamoureux was born on August 23, 1926 in Spink, South Dakota, the son of Leonard and Loretta (Boden) Lamoureux. Ted graduated in 1944 from the Akron High School. After graduating, Ted enlisted into the Navy. Ted was married to Martha Downing in 1952. They later divorced. In 1983 he married Myrna Manzer and were later divorced. He had a long time friendship with Jenny Stowers.
Ted was a lifelong salesman, selling shoes in department stores and later owned and operated Theodore’s Shoes on 6th Street in Sioux City for a number of years. In the later years of his career, he traveled on the road. He was a dedicated participant of AA for over 41 years.
Ted is survived by his daughters Linda (Bruce) Krueger of Topeka, Kansas and Beth (Kevin) Moritz of Moorpark, California; his sister Barbara Coyle of Akron, Iowa; grandchildren Ashley (Sean) Bascom, Brooke (Kyle) Stusser, Keith (Jenna) Krueger, and Kelli (Ben) Chandler; great grandchildren Braelyn, Teagan, and Eli.
He was preceded by his parents, his brother Jack Lamoureux, two sisters Polly Porter and Jody Redmond and a grandson, Benjamin Krueger.
