Ted J. Jolin, 52, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at his residence. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. A reception will be held at Jim Jolin's home, following services.
Ted was born on February 10, 1965 in Sioux City, the son of James and Diana (Rickwa) Jolin. Ted graduated from West High in 1983. Following high school, worked with his dad at Jolin Glass.
Ted started dating Vanessa Ballard in 1985, and they have been together since. Hunting, fishing, and camping were a few things Ted enjoyed doing, but music was a vital part of his life. He played guitar and bass, had been a member of the River City Boys Banjo Band for almost 40 years, and was a member of The Boys of '68.
Ted was a great husband and father. He was a caretaker at heart, and was often more concerned about others than himself. He took pride in taking care of his family, especially Vanessa and the girls.
Survivors include his father, Jim; life partner, Vanessa Ballard; children, Samantha Ballard, Steven Jolin, Sabrina Langseth and her husband Kylee, and Teddi Ann Jolin and her significant other Devin Wynn; brothers, Mike Jolin and Tony Jolin and his significant other Deborah Yates; grandchildren, Samson and Ashton; Tom Dula; and many other family and friends.
Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Diana; and sister, Kelly Ann Jolin.
