Tamara “Tami” Doyle-Tieck was born on October 30, 1960, in Spencer, Iowa, and grew up in Sibley, Iowa. Tami attended Briar Cliff University and dedicated an incredible 42 years to social work, giving her time, compassion, and heart to helping others. Her career was more than a profession—it was a reflection of the caring person she was and the difference she made in the lives of so many people.

Her dedication to helping others extended beyond her career. Tami also volunteered at UnityPoint Health, giving her time and compassion in both the prenatal department and addictions services, continuing her lifelong commitment to supporting others. Growing up, Tami was active in swimming, cheerleading, and high school drama. She loved being involved, having fun, and making memories with those around her. One of Tami’s favorite pastimes was flea marketing. She loved searching for unique treasures and finding those unexpected gems. But of all the gems Tami ever found, her favorite gem was her husband, Jim.

Tami and Jim found their own special place to relax and enjoy life at the campground. Those times together gave them the opportunity to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and simply enjoy being together. The memories they made there will be treasured forever. Tami loved decorating for every season, but Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday. She especially loved decorating for Christmas and making everything feel warm, festive, and beautiful. Her love of decorating was one of the many ways she brought joy to those around her.

Tami also cherished her friendships. Gladys, Sarah, and Arlene were among her very best friends, and she treasured their friendship, laughter, and the memories they shared throughout the years. Tami believed in giving to others, and through her gift as a donor, she continued her legacy of helping others even beyond her lifetime.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her family, including Danielle and Freddie Ortiz; her beloved granddaughters Heaven and Kailee of Spencer, Iowa, and her great-granddaughter Gracelynn; her siblings Tim and Bunny of Storm Lake, Iowa; Todd and Amy of Spencer, Iowa; and Shelly and John Clarey of Orange City, Iowa.  She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Jerry of Texas, Alan (Karen), Tom (Annette), Kevin, and David, and sisters-in-law Vickie, Amber (Russ), Kim (Duane), and Kris, along with other beloved family members from the Sioux City area.  Tami is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Tami was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Gerald (Jerry) Doyle; her grandparents, Connie and Florence Doyle and Allen and Hazel Blessing; her mother-in-law, Janice Pfrimmer; and her beloved stepson, Brandon.

Tami will be remembered for her caring heart, her 42 years of dedication to social work, her commitment to helping others, her love of flea markets and finding hidden treasures, her treasured friendships, her love of decorating—especially for Christmas—and most importantly, the love she shared with Jim, her family, and the many people whose lives she touched.

Of all the treasures Tami found throughout her life, the most precious were never things that could be bought or collected. They were the people she loved, the lives she touched, and the memories she created.
