Susan Kay Rhymer-Harvey, 64, of Sioux City, entered eternal life on Friday, August 12, 2016 at her home following a brief struggle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Loving Faith Fellowship Church with Rev. Patrick Burgess officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8 with family present from 6-8 and a prayer service at 7:00 pm, on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will be at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City following the burial.
Her spirit is carried on by her 3 children, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 1 brother. Susan was born on March 4, 1952, daughter of Donald and Doris (Goff) Rhymer.
Susan married Kirk Palmer and together they had one child, Holly. Kirk and Susan later divorced. Susan then married William Burgart in 1971 and were married for 22 years, together they had Traci and Christopher, they later divorced. She then married Duwayne Harvey and they later divorced.
Susan worked at Hy-Vee for many years in various positions, including the floral department as well as manager at Starbucks. Susan was last employed at Royal Canin.
Susan was an active member of Loving Faith Fellowship Church, and was very devoted to Christ. She loved gardening, spending time with loved ones, and visiting the ocean. She, like many others, endured a lot in her time, but her smile never faded and she always pushed on. She loved and accepted everyone unconditionally, and filled everyone's life with joy and laughter.
Survivors include her children, Holly Dunn, Traci (Loren) Van Der Vliet, and Chris (Jill) Burgart; brother, Tom (Mary) Rhymer, all of Sioux City, 11 grandchildren, Tara, Chanse, Laresa, Christian, Carissa, Talesa, Tabitha, Shiloh, Aidan, Auron, and Vaan; great grandchildren, Luxi and Brantley; and her friend Larry Rasmussen.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents.
