Susan “Susie” Klug, 73 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at a local hospital. Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Susan Kay Marie Klug was born October 27, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Julia (Albert) Klug. She grew up in Sioux City, Iowa graduating from Heelan High School in 1967. When her father passed away her mother later married Don Klave. Don raised Susan. After graduation Susan continued her education at the St. Joseph School of Radiologic Technology, she briefly worked for Dr. Collins, but returned to St. Joseph Hospital in 1976. She went on to work at Marion Health Center, currently known as Mercy One, until she retired.

She loved to be with her family and friends, enjoyed cooking and helping the homeless. Susan was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Susan is survived by her son, Derrick (Sharon) Klug, two grandchildren, Michelle Logsdon, Madison Logsdon, one great grandchild, Madison Fontenot, seven nieces and nephews, Kevin Edwards, Jeff Counter, Shannon Counter, Briana Edwards, Toby Counter, Joseph Edwards, and Tony Counter, and an extremely extended family from all around.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Earl Counter, sister, Joan Nuno, and grandchild, Brittany Logsdon.
