Sunyo Johnson, 87, of Sioux City, IA passed away August 12, 2025, at her residence. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Sunyo was born on December 20, 1937, in Korea. She came to the United States as a young lady.  It was here that she met Edward H. Johnson. On October 17, 1977, she married Ed in Elk Point, South Dakota.  She would attend the Abu Bekr Shriners events with her husband and worked for several packing companies in the area for many years.  Sunyo was a golf fanatic and had several holes in ones at the Hinton Golf Course. She also enjoyed sewing and walking around Morningside, often walking 7 miles a day.

Sunyo will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew her.
