Summer Nicole Deakins was born in Sioux City Iowa on November 27, 1975, to Kay Esther (Skarin) and Boyd Allan Deakins. She died on Monday May 6 at her residence after a long illness and entered into the arms of her Savior, where her healing is now complete and fresh new life and joy are hers.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Waterbury Funeral Home in Sgt. Blulff, with family present from 6 to 8. Pastor Gene Stockton, Heartland Community Baptist Church will preside. Online condolences for the family may be made at www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Summer grew up in Sioux, graduating from East High School, and returned here from Kansas City in 2012. She had a special place in her heart for those who struggled, for three special children who always occupied her thoughts, and for Elvis.
She is survived by her parents Kay and Don Copas; Sisters Shawna Deakins and daughter Kate of San Diego, Kyndra (Josh) Callendar, Sioux City, brothers John (Amber) Deakins, and nephews Noah and Elijah of Menifee CA, brother Nick (Angie) Copas, and Tony Copas, of Sioux City. She is also survived by long time loyal friends Beth Jacobsen, Sioux City and John and Darla Honeycutt of Kansas City Mo.
Summer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Boyd and Florence Skarin of Sioux City, Jim and Elsie Deakins, Smith Center KS, Liilian Deakins, Salida Co, and her father Boyd Allan Deakins.
