Steven "Steve" L. Gunsolly, 68, of Sioux City, IA, passed away October 23, 2025, at Unity Point Hospital downtown.  Per his wishes he has been cremated, and a celebration of life will be at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Steve was a kind and generous man.  He worked at the same job for over 30 years and retired before suffering 3 strokes and a heart attack along with kidney failure.  He wore a brave face throughout daily (some weeks) appointments.  After 22 months, he grew tired and lost his will to continue.  He was adamant that he wasn't going to a nursing home, and he did it "his way."  His sister-in-law Rhonda accompanied him through his journey.  He enjoyed karaoke, playing cards, light up displays, and "jamming: with his family and friends.  He was always present for holidays and family gatherings, and he always contributed to these functions.  He was very adamant about paying his own way, which was his father Dale's best trait.

Those left to honor his memory include his brothers: Gary (Connie), Dennis, Tony (Rhonda); sister-in-law, Linda; nephew, Dusty and his 2 girls; and a niece, Brittany (fiancée, Mary) Gunsolly.

He is preceded in death by his 2 brothers: Craig and Keith; his parents, Dale and Joane; sisters-in-law: Tracy & Kay; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

TCB was his motto.  He was loved dearly and will be missed always.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all healthcare providers in the Siouxland area.
