Sophia Terriques, a radiant and compassionate young woman, passed away on January 25, 2025.

Born on April 12, 2011, she was a beacon of light to all those who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of a pure, genuine soul. She brimmed with cheerfulness, always ready to extend a helping hand, and her creative spirit found joy in arts and crafts and creating delicious baked goods.

She was the beloved daughter of Conception Parmelee and Megiell Terriques, and cherished stepdaughter to Breanna Villarruel. Sophia was the treasured sister of six siblings - her brothers Megiell Jr., Jesus, Luis, Alexander and her sisters Vivian and Ophelia Terriques, also half-brother Christian, all of whom survive her. She was predeceased by her adoring grandmothers, Patricia Parmelee and Sandra De La Cruz. Her great grandmother Virginia Parmelee. Uncles Shannon and Abraham Parmelee.

A lover of Mexican food, social media, baking, and being with family. Sophia's happiness was contagious and she had a knack for making ordinary moments extraordinary. She was, in every sense, a delight to be around. Sophia's life, though short, was rich in experiences and filled with love.

A memorial service will be held in Sophia's honor on January 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM concluding at 7 PM at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, located at 4125 Orleans Avenue. The burial will take place on February 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City.

Sophia's memory, embodied by her radiant personality, creative spirit, and compassionate heart will be forever be treasured by her loved ones.

While Sophia's physical presence will be deeply missed, the influence of her compassionate nature and cheerful spirit will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to  "Embracing the chaos of every day life", she truly embraced the whirlwind. Rest in peace, Sophia, your legacy of love, laughter, and creativity lives on.
