Shirley A. Holt, 84 of Sioux City, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at a local care facility.

Services will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, September 20th at Church of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ with Rev. Steven J. McLoud officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Shirley was born on April 7, 1932 in Bronson, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Henrietta (Cantin) Ping. She attended schools in Sioux City and graduated from the Castana High School.in Castana. In September of 1964 Shirley was united in marriage to Donald L. Holt in Sioux City.

Shirley worked at the Johnson Biscuit Company in Sioux City for 25 years, and later retiring from Interbake Foods.

Shirley enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved to play poker, cribbage and bingo. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Shirley is survived by her husband Donald; 1 son, Norman Johnson; 2 grandchildren, Mike Johnson and Dustin Johnson, 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Norman Ping and two sisters, Roberta Stivers and Anita Tipton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael Johnson.
