Shirley M. Custer, 87 of Sioux City, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave, with Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating. Visitation will be held 4-8 pm Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the funeral home with family present from 6-8pm and prayer service at 7:00pm. Burial will held at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery.

Shirley was born on February 9, 1928 in LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Leona (Ruba) Laddusaw. Shirley married Gene C. Custer on June 21, 1946 in Kingsley, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple moved to Sioux City to raise their family.

Shirley worked for the Zenith, House of Paint and was also a licensed day care provider.

Survivors include her sons: Gary of Sioux City, Dennis of Moville, Randy (Diane) and Terry (Amy), both of Sioux City, daughters Patty Ann Ellis of Sioux City and Carol Junck of Hinton, brothers Donald (Micki) Laddusaw of Sioux Falls, SD and James (Betty) Laddusaw of Spencer, IA, sister Patricia Wetrosky of LeMars, IA, 28 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by her pet, Daisy.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers; Robert and William Laddusaw, five children: Guy, Linda, Tina, stillborn twin boys, two grandchildren: Bobby Jo Winstead, Staci Custer, two great grandchildren: Zachary Fuller and Raynni Custer, and son-in-law Richard Ellis.
