Sharon Fae (Monk) Zellmer, 78, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at a local hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Abiding by her request, cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family present will be Saturday from 5-8 pm, with a Memorial Service at 7 pm, at Waterbury Funeral Service 400 4th Street, Sergeant Bluff, with Chaplain Lorna Peters officiating. Private burial will take place in the Kingsley Cemetery in Kingsley.
Sharon was born on September 17, 1934 on a farm near Hinton, Iowa, to Henry and Fern (Yount) Monk. Sharon graduated from Moville School. On December 23, 1951 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Zellmer. Over the years, she worked various jobs, but enjoyed being a farm wife most.
Sharon and Lawrence were helpers and leaders in 4-H while their sons were 4-H members.
She enjoyed her flowers and her fishing trips to Minnesota. She was always known for telling stories, but her greatest enjoyment was her family.
Sharon is survived by her husband Lawrence Zellmer, Sons: Dallas and Pam (Sitzmann) Zellmer, and Dene Zellmer all from Moville, Iowa. Grandchilden Kyle and Kim (Olson) Zellmer and Greatgrandaughters Mesa and Sierra all from Hinton, Iowa.Grandchilden Jason and Katie (Zellmer) Henrichs, great grandchildren Hadlee and Jaxon of Sioux City, Iowa.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Phyllis, and an infant daughter Dawn.
