Obituary
Sharon MarKay Johnson, 73 of Sioux City, passed away from a long illness on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at a local hospital surrounded by her family.
Memorial Services will be held 2:30 pm Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Sharon was born in Sioux City on July 3, 1942, the daughter of William and Beverly (Stone) Gill. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1961. She was married to Richard Benton and later divorced. They had two children, Robbin and Richard.
Sharon married Gary Johnson in Sioux City on February 23, 1979. Sharon enjoyed watching Nascar races, old TV shows and spending time with her dog, Cookie. She looked forward to daily telephone calls from her children.
Sharon is survived by her husband Gary in Sioux City, IA, children Robbin (Forrest) Norton Oacoma, SD, Richard (Lori) Benton in Bellvue, NE. step-children Lynn Johnson in Sioux City, IA, Jerry (Coleen) Johnson in Burbank, SD and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.
