Sharon K. Collins, 74, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Crescent Park Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Squires officiating. Sharon was born on October 16, 1939 in Oto, Iowa, the daughter of Merlin and Mary (Manson) Zerfing. She graduated from Oto High School in 1957 and married Phillip “Dutch” Collins on October 5, 1957. Together they moved to Sioux City and they had three children. Dutch passed away in 2007. Sharon worked for the Sioux City Community School District for over 30 years. She enjoyed camping, reading, and spending time with family.
Survivors include her children Jacki King and her husband Mark of Marshfield, WI, Lori Wahlberg and her husband Mark of Sioux City, and Greg Collins and his wife Michelle of New Hampton, IA, sister Nancy Wallace and her husband Larry of Louisiana, MO, grandchildren Jessica Sandeen, Erin King, Teri Winkel, Ian Collins, and Brittany Collins, and five great granddaughters.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Merlene Zerfing.
