Sarah Frances Carnes

Sarah Carnes, 44, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family at the Mitchell Hospice house on August 29, 2026. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Sarah was born on December 13, 1981 in Sioux City, IA to Thomas and Barbara Jean (Wanned) Wissing.

She was united in marriage to Rob Carnes on January 21, 2012 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Rob Carnes; parents: Thomas and Barbara Jean Wissing; in-laws: Bob and Kim Carnes; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Shanda and Tony Antonopoulos; nephew Perry Antonopoulos and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends she would consider family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved dogs/fur-babies, Margot and Matilda.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical team that gave them more time to spend with Sarah. Dr. Quentin Durward, the team at June E. Nylen: Dr. Lisa Chaiken, Dr. Donald Wender, Jaclyn Meis, AOCNP and their staff. Special thanks to a friend first, and doctor second, Dr. Randall Wood.

Her light may have left this world, but it will never leave the hearts of those who loved her.
