Sara M. Hodges, 44, of West Des Moines, formerly of Sioux City, entered the spirit world on April 29, 2018 in Sioux City.

Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 with family present on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sara was born on March 13, 1974 in Iowa City, Iowa to Jerome Robert Blackburn and Linda Hodges. Sara grew up in the Siouxland area and attended Sioux City schools.

Sara was a beautiful person, inside and out, with a radiant spirit and smile that touched everyone. She had an amazing, unique personality.  Her daughters were the most important part of her life. She loved spending time with them doing crafts, hair, and dressing herself and them in the latest fashion. Sara also enjoyed going for Harley rides and decorating her home. She loved serving others, and was known to cook many dinners for her family and friends to enjoy.

Survivors include her mother, Linda (Garry) Swanberg; father, Jerome Robert Blackburn; daughters, Zoe-ella Anderson, Roxanne Hodges, and Isabella Hodges; grandmother, Delores Chaney; brother, JJ Hodges; special friend, Christina Lethcoe; and numerous extended family members

Sara was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alice and Vernon Hodges; and uncles, Jerry Hodges and Shane Davis
