Sandra Kay Fredericksen, age 68, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday June 6, 2013 at her residence under the care of Hospice
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service with Pastor Gene Stockton officiating. Interment will follow in Mc Cook Lake Cemetery at North Sioux City, South Dakota. Visitation with the family present will be held on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Sandra was born on September 9, 1944 in Pender, Nebraska, the daughter of Michael and Viola (Zastro) Farrell. At a young age the family moved to Dakota City, Nebraska. Sandra attended and graduated from South Sioux City Community Schools with the class of 1963.
Sandra was united in marriage with Donald Church in 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1966. She then was married to Richard Fredericksen in 1969. Richard preceded her in death on June 28, 2008.
Sandra worked for Armour and Company, IBP and Arrmark until a injury forced her into early retirement in 2001. She was a strong woman who enjoyed cooking, camping, and fishing. She was the rock of the family who had a heart of gold.
She is survived by her sons: Dale Church and wife Cara of Sioux City, Rich Fredericksen and his wife Tanya of North Sioux City, South Dakota, Matt Fredericksen of Sioux City, Daniel Fredericksen and his wife Samantha of Sioux City, and Lee Fredericksen of Mc Cook Lake, South Dakota, her daughters Barb Foster and Terrie Lynn Church both of Sioux City. She is also survived by two brothers Robert Farrell and Jim Farrell and one sister Donna Burgin, along with her 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; Donald Church and Richard Fredericksen, and a sister Linda.
