Sandra “Sandy/ Nana” Bock, 62 passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 12 pm Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Waterbury Funeral Service 4125 Orleans Ave Sioux City, Iowa. A Visitation will be held two hours prior starting at 10am.
Sandra Dee Bock was born Wednesday, October 4, 1961, in Sioux City, Iowa to Marvin and Yvonne (Todd) Harrington. Sandy first met Kevin Bock while in grade school through her friend Denise (Kevin’s sister). They went on their first date when Sandra was in sixth grade and Kevin was in seventh grade. Kevin used his own money from his job at Power Wash to take her to the local arcade. Kevin picked her up on his bike. She ended up walking home after Kevin tried to give her a kiss on her cheek. They started dating steady in 1976. She married the love of her life and best friend Kevin on May 12, 1979. Kevin would often joke about being married to Sandy three times…while never getting divorced. Kevin planned a surprise wedding for their 13th anniversary, having their sons stand up for them. He planned a day with her getting her hair done, picked out a pretty dress for her to wear, and surprised her with renewing their vows because he wanted to show her how much he loved her and how much she meant to him. They also renewed their vows at a marriage encounter on their 25th wedding anniversary. Sandy was the ideal housewife, and the best friend Kevin could have ever asked for!
Sandy and Kevin were blessed with two sons, Klint and Kevin Jr. She was a devoted wife, mother, and “Nana”. Once the grandchildren came into the world “Nana” was the greatest title she ever received! She was the epitome of a helicopter grandma, devoting all of her time, energy and love to their well-being. Her family was her everything and she was always doing whatever she could do to help them and to show them how much she loved them. After Sandy retired, she dedicated all off her time and effort to her friends and family. If anyone needed anything, they knew she would help. From picking up kids from school, getting stains out of their shirts, or a late night phone call-Sandy would be there. She was very close to her mom and siblings and always made holidays and special occasions a family event.
Sandy was the hardest working lady anyone ever saw! She was always busy taking care of others. She worked as a dedicated caregiver with MidStep Services for many years caring for her clients as if they were her family.
Sandy will be missed dearly by her husband of 44 years, Kevin “Papa” Sr., her sons Klint Bock, Kevin (Stephanie Corkery) Bock Jr.; grandchildren Kennedy Bock, Cayden Bock, and Kevin “Chip” Bock III; great granddaughter Kaleea Dee; fur grandpuppies Kiki and BoB; her mother; brothers Bob (Sharon) Harrington and Skeeter (Shari) Harrington; sisters Donna (Rick) Dunne, Sharon Lux and Brenda (Jerry) Franco; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father; mother-in-law Mary Lou Bock and father-in-law Louis Bock Sr., her sister-in-law Mary Marier and her brother-in-law Larry Gerch.
