Samson Harris, 60 of Sioux City, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his residence.

Samson was born on August 13, 1952 in Monroe, Louisiana, the son of Hayword and Sadie (Robertson) Harris. After graduating from High School, he moved to Sioux City and began working at State Steel. Samson was currently a custodian with Woodbury County. Samson was a concerned citizen and a volunteer on the Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence in Sioux City.
Samson had many friends and he will be missed. He was very handy and known to quickly help others fix things, but with his own projects, most got half fixed.
Samson is survived by two sons, Aaron Harris of Gilbert, Arizona and Adam Harris of Union City, Georgia; three daughters, Amy McCaskill of Lithonia, Georgia, Angela Harris of Grand Prairie, Texas and Andrea Harris of Lawrenceville, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; and two brothers, Moses Harris and Elmo Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Harris.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence in Sioux City.
