Ruth Irene White, 97, of Sioux City, Iowa died Thursday, April 22, 2021 at a local Hospital. Memorial Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Ruth was born February 4, 1924 near Sibley, Iowa the daughter of Lee and Hattie (Feldkamp) Helmers. She grew up in Sibley and graduated from Melvin High School. Ruth married George K. White. Together they made their home in Sioux City.

Ruth loved spending time with her family and assisted in raising her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting with friends, playing bingo and word search puzzles.

Survivors include her daughter, Candice Kaas of Tea, South Dakota; four grandchildren, Angela (Jacob) Perez of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Candice McDowell of Omaha, Nebraska, Ashley (Brandon) Hicks of Tea, South Dakota and Mercedes Calamanco of South Sioux City, Nebraska; nine great-grandchildren, Alyssa Perez, Jade Mann, Caira Mann, Jaxon McDowell, Caison McDowell, Hannah Hicks, Harper Hicks, Halle Hicks and Boe Snodgress; one great-great grandchild, Liam Glass; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Helmers of Sibley, Iowa and Betty Card of Moville, Iowa; a step-son, Paul (Joan) White of Montreal, Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carla Ann White; two sisters, Mary ‘Liz’ Kruger and Shirlee Kruger and a brother, Wendell Helmers.
