Ruth A. Peterson, 72 of Sioux City, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at a local care facility.
Memorial services will be held 7 pm Friday at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Avenue, with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Visitation Friday 5-8 pm at the funeral home.

Ruth was born on April 7, 1942 in Sioux City, the daughter of Clem and Dorothy Evans. She graduated from high school in Sioux City, and on June 21, 1958 was married to Richard Peterson. Five children were born to this union.

Ruth worked at Zenith and Younkers, then later as a bartender at The Jungle and Bob Roe’s Point After, and other various taverns in the area. She enjoyed the outdoors, whether camping or tending her yard and gardening. Her greatest joy however, was being with her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her son Rex Peterson; daughters Valerie Celene, Cyndi and her husband Mike Kramer and Lana Peterson; her grandchildren, Amanda Peterson, Alex Peterson, Austin Peterson, Myles Bailey, Autumn Stamoulis, Micah Celene, Britton Robertson, Brookyln Voss, Bryan Voss and Haven Peterson; 9 great-grandchildren; and her brother Bill Evans.

She was preceded in death by her son Aaron Peterson, her daughter Elizabeth Peterson, grandson Dylan Peterson and one brother, Jimmy Evans.
