Ruth T. Benson (White), 93, of Youngstown, AZ, passed away December 13, 2023.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 28 at 9:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, IA.

Ruth was born on March 19, 1930, in Sioux City, IA to Ralph and Gladys (Whitlock) White.  She lived in Sioux City and McCook Lake, SD area until moving to Arizona in 1999.  She married Elvin Benson on July 3, 1946, in Sioux City.  She was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church.  She was a part of 5 generations of family 9 times.  Ruth was the family matriarch and friend to all.  She will be greatly missed, and she is now free from pain.

Her hobbies were crocheting, bowling, playing cards, Yahtzee, and mainly just being with her family and enjoying their laughter and fun.

She is survived by her 3 children: Larry E. Benson, Campbell, TX, Lenette (Vern) Knecht, Surprise, AZ, Loretta Benson, Surprise, AZ; 6 grandchildren: Scott Weigel, McCook Lake, SD, Brad Weigel, Sioux Falls, SD, Mindy (Tim) Sullivan, Campbell, TX, Veronica (Heath) Rademacher, Surprise, AZ, Nancy (Allan) Ellis, Surprise, AZ, Nicholle (Eric) Dulaney, 17 great-grandchildren; 2great-great grandchildren; brother, LeRoy (Sharon) White, El Mirage, AZ; sister-in-law, Clarissa (Dutch) Benson, Sioux City, IA; brother-in-law, James LaPlante, Fountain Valley, CA; lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers; 1 sister; 2 grandchildren: Brock and Christy Benson.

Pallbearers will be Hayden Weigel, Tyler Ellis, Austin Dulaney, Hudson Rademacher, Keith Sanders, and Eric Dulaney.
