Russell W. Rath, Sr., 69 of Sioux City, IA, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018. Services are still pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Russell Wayne Rath, Sr. was born on January 3, 1949 in Correctionville, Iowa the son of Wayne and Virginia (Coleman) Rath. He grew up and graduated from Correctionville High School, continuing his education at WITT. January 3, 1995 he married Iva McGough, together they made their home in Arkansas before moving to Sioux City in 1997. Over the years he worked on processing plants and worked the last 20 years until his death at AGProcessing in Sergeant Bluff.

He loved to golf at Green Valley, watched westerns, and was a fan of the Vikings among other sports. Russell was a member of the Church of Christ.

Russell is survived by his wife Iva of Sioux City, two daughters; Virginia Rath of Lake Park, IA, Rebecca Vance of Sioux City, one son; Russell Jr. of Dubque, IA, two step children; Amy Monroe, and Terri Rychtarik both of Sioux City, two grandchildren; Destiny Milon, Tamika Milon, ten step grandchildren; Sarah Waldner, Michael Monroe, Leland Monroe, Blake Monroe, Isaac Foote, Terrah Rychterik-Miller, Dierdre Rychtarik-Miller, Lydia Hightower, Tesla Hightower, and Owen Hightower, one brother Michael (Libby) Rath of St. Louis, MO, two sisters; Debbie (Denny) Evans of Correctionville, IA, Lynn (Tom) Anderson of Esterville, IA, one niece, and six nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one infant daughter Sara.
