Russel (Russ) S. Bergenske, 54 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at a local hospital, surrounded by his family. There will be no services at this time.  The family will announce a later date for a celebration of life.

Russ was born April 16 ^th , 1967, in Sioux City, IA to Edward and Barbara Bergenske.  Russ and his son Levi shared the same birthdates.  Russ attended Sioux City schools and worked various jobs.  Russ enjoyed working on cars and was always willing to help a family member or a friend with their car repairs.  He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and going to the casinos. Russ had 5 children: Cody, Russell, Jr., Levi, Samantha, and Edward. Russ enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Russ and his son Levi shared the same birthdates.

Russ is survived by his parents, Ed and Barb of Jefferson, SD, four children, Cody (Eva) Mann of Sioux City, IA, Russell Jr. of Sioux City, IA, Levi of Fort Dodge, IA, and Edward of Loveland, CO., two brothers, Eddie (Karen) Bergenske of Sioux City IA., Terry Bergenske of Jefferson, SD., two sisters, Tammy (Danny) Mann of Jefferson, SD., Paula (Joe) Barnes of Sioux City, IA., 6 grandchildren, Miguel, Mily, Cody Jr, Olivia, Caden, and Zavannah, several nieces and nephews, good friend and cousin Tom Semple, and a good buddy and nephew Travis Barnes.

Russ was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Bergenske, and his daughter Samantha.

The Family would like to thank the Mercy nursing staff for their special care to Russ during his last days. And a special thanks to Nurse Michelle for her loving ability to care for Russ and helping the family through this difficult time.
