Rueben Erdmann, 88 of Sioux City died Friday, July 17, 2021 at a local hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 10 am Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the US Army.
Rueben was born on March 30, 1933 in Goodrich, North Dakota the son of Albert and Lidia (Frikert) Erdmann. He graduated from the Goodrich High School in 1951 and was inducted into the Army and was trained and served as a Drill Instructor during the Korean War. After his service, he returned to North Dakota and continued as a licensed plumber.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Olson on December 31, 1964 in New Rockford, N.D.
Later, Rueben worked road construction before moving to the Sioux City area in 1968 where he worked for Needham’s Packing. Rueben then worked for Geltia, retiring in 2001.
Rueben is survived by a daughter Debra (Dennis) Hamilton of New Hope, MN.; two sons Gerald Berglund of Sioux City and Todd and Sherry Erdmann of Washta, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jason (Kathy) Wainwright of Coon Rapids, MN, grandchildren Jason Jr., Eugene and Felisha of Sioux City, Tiffany (Maurice) Dunn and children, Mariah, Lailah Rose and Amir of Brooklyn Park, MN, Julain (Nelda) Hamilton and child, Alexis of San Dieo, CA, Lana Hamilton of New Hope, MN, Teresa (Travis) Howley, Richie Derochie, Trisha Derochie, Jesse Hare and Alisha Steeg of Sioux City and Chantel Steeg of Sioux City; great-grandchildren, Triver Derochie and Anthony; special grandson, Zach Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Virginia in 2007.
